WINSTON-SALEM, NC (March 10, 2016) – The return of Daylight Saving Time—the unofficial kickoff to spring—moves us from dark winter evenings indoors to the patio for more nighttime grilling. So when you change your clocks, also pick up a fresh propane tank for the start of the spring grilling season.
 
A 2015 study by the Hearth, Patio & Barbecue Association shows that grilling increases dramatically with the extra hours of daylight. While 14% of people surveyed use the grill almost every day or one to two times per week in the winter, almost half use their grill almost every day or one to two times per week in the spring. The last thing anybody wants is to be out of fuel.

  • If it’s still chilly in your area, place your grill in a location that’s sheltered from cold winds, but is approximately 10 feet from any combustible surfaces. Don’t place it against siding or near other materials susceptible to heat damage or catching fire. NEVER GRILL IN A GARAGE OR ENCLOSED SPACE, OR ON A FLAMMABLE SURFACE.
