We didn’t forget about all you IPA lovers out there! A quick history lesson on India Pale Ales will tell you that despite their name, this style of beer was popularized in England in the mid-1800s. Fast forward to present day, and IPAs are now one of the most common beers to cook with. That’s why this grilled salmon recipe will make your taste buds crave more than just a single piece. After you’ve created an aluminum foil tray for your salmon and covered the fish with the proper seasonings, butter pads, lemon slices and green onion, it’s time to toss it on the grill and let the IPA work its magic. Pour your choice of IPA over the salmon and seal it with a top layer of foil. After about eight minutes, the rich flavors will all soak into the salmon, creating a perfect cut of fish to enjoy with your favorite beverage, or any leftover IPAs you’ve got stashed away. |

German for sour cabbage, sauerkraut made its way to Europe from East Asia over 1,000 years ago. While sauerkraut is a headliner in this recipe, the brown sugar, mustard and onion powders, celery and caraway seeds are not to be forgotten. But we could make the argument that the key ingredient in this entire recipe is a delicious lager. Because lagers offer a light, crisp taste and are slightly less bitter than IPAs, they are the perfect complement to this sauerkraut-based dish. With a generous amount of lager beer-infused glaze drizzled atop your favorite bratwurst sausages, you’ll feel like you were transported straight to a beer garden in Berlin from the comfort of your own backyard. |

A unique and fun recipe, this chicken is doused with Mexican beer and ground coriander, a spice and member of the parsley family. In addition to coriander, which is known for its relationship with cilantro, lemons and pepper are necessary in preparing this whole chicken that sits on a spare beer can. Sure it’s different, but we promise it’s uniquely delicious! |

Can it be International Beer Day without a delicious steak recipe in your back pocket? One of the most flavorful cuts of steak, rib eyes can be very tender when cooked properly. In this recipe, you’ll want to keep a few ingredients handy, including soy sauce, maple syrup, garlic, ginger root, mustard powder, sesame oil, and Tabasco sauce. These will all be crucial in creating a tasty marinade that gives your steak the flavor you’re looking for. But the single most important ingredient on International Beer Day is, you guessed it, beer! Apart from being just plain good, beer also plays an important role in making this steak live up to your lofty standards. Beer contains enzymes that help break down tough fibers in meat, making it more tender and flavorful at the same time. So crack open your favorite beer, pour in plenty of it into your marinade, and you’ll have a juicy rib eye to enjoy very soon!. |
