Bryan Mroczka, Head of Culinary

David Marks, Operation BBQ ReliefBryan Mroczka holds a lifelong passion for giving back and teaching others. Born and raised in Orlando, FL, he graduated with a degree in Information Systems Audit and Control from Bentley University in 2010. After spending five years in Supply Chain Finance for the largest casual dining chain, Bryan followed his BBQ dreams. He started working in the industry as Head Pitmaster for Sonny’s BBQ, where he led the procurement team in reviewing contracts and managing a $90 million budget. Bryan also led the Sonny’s BBQ Pitmaster Academy, a multi-day program that all pitmasters must attend before they can become Sonny’s Certified Pitmasters.

Since 2013, Bryan and his competition team Bull Rush BBQ have won dozens of awards, most notably 11-time Grand Champion, eight-time People’s Choice, and several first-place finishes in chicken, ribs, pork, and brisket categories. Bryan currently serves as the Head of Culinary for Operation BBQ Relief, a role that makes him responsible for all things food, specifically the Always Serving Project and Disaster Services.

When Bryan isn’t at BBQ competitions or on deployment for Operation BBQ Relief, you can usually find him hanging around a smoker, spending time with family and friends, fishing, or scalloping.
