Ingredients:
Whole Turkey (if frozen, thawed completely)
Fresh Sage, chopped
Ground Black Pepper
Celery Salt
Fresh Basil, chopped
Vegetable Oil
Honey
Additional Items:
•
Disposable Aluminum Pan
(drip pan)
• Paper Towels
• Aluminum Foil
•
Smoking Pouch
or
Smoking Box
•
Wood Chips
Directions:
Remove giblets, neck and any other innards.
Pat dry with paper towels.
Preheat your grill to 375℉.
Combine sage, black pepper, celery salt, basil and vegetable oil in a medium bowl.
Place turkey into disposable aluminum pan.
Make sure to fold the wings under the body and tie the legs together.
Pour mixture over turkey.
Flip turkey over so it is breast side down and loosely tent with aluminum foil.
Place disposable roasting pan on the grill.
If using wood chips, place in a
smoker box
or
pouch
and place on the grill.
Close lid and grill for grill for 1 hour.
Carefully open lid and remove the foil.
Spread 6 oz of the honey over the turkey.
Replace the aluminum foil, close the lid and grill for about 2 hours (until the internal temperature reaches 170℉).
Carefully open the lid, remove the aluminum foil and flip the turkey over (breast side up).
Spread the remaining honey over the turkey.
Close the lid (leaving uncovered) and grill for 10 - 15 minutes, until crispy.
Remove from the grill and let rest for 20 - 25 minutes.
Cut and serve.
