Grilled Kartoffelpuffer (German Potato Pancakes)

Ingredients: 2 lbs Potatoes (about 4 medium or 6 small russets, or any variety of starchy potato); Must me RAW, not cooked.; 2 lg Eggs; 1/4 cup All-purpose Flour; 1 sm Onion; 1 tsp Salt, to taste; Pepper, to taste; Nutmeg, to taste; Vegetable Oil or Bacon Lard; Additional Items:; Dishcloth or Cheesecloth; Large Bowl; Non-stick Pan; Paper Towels

Prep Time: 10 - 20 minutes
Cook Time: 6 - 20 minutes

Ingredients:

Potatoes (about 4 medium or 6 small russets, or any variety of starchy potato); Must me RAW, not cooked.
Eggs
All-purpose Flour
Onion
Salt, to taste
Pepper, to taste
Nutmeg, to taste
Vegetable Oil or Bacon Lard

Additional Items:

• Dishcloth or Cheesecloth
• Large Bowl
• Non-stick Pan
• Paper Towels

Directions:

Wash, peel and grate the potatoes (finely grated).
Using a dishcloth or cheesecloth, remove as much water as possible from the potatoes.
In a large bowl combine all the ingredients. Mix togther throughly. Note: will need to use the mixture quickly.
Using the grill's side burner (or preheat the grill to high), heat a non-stick pan add 2 tbsp of oil to the bottom and heat to medium high.
lace 1/3 to 1/2 cup of mixture into a hot pan and flaten with a spoon.
Fry both sides of the pancakes for 3 - 5 minutes or until golden brown.
Remove and quickly dry on papertowels.
Serve and enjoy.
